Stooges

ya know?

Tuhday

So, it was my dad's birthday today. We went to Rutgers to visit my sister and catch a football game. The weather was bad, and so was the game. I had a fat sandwich though, and that was enough to keep me cheery. It's currently snowing, and I'm bumming around in my room, riding on an old skateboard and listening to the Casualties. I am a loser.

MInor Threat

I'm a poor boy born in a rut
Some say my manners ain't the best
Some of my friends have been in a whole lot of trouble,
And some say I'm not better then the rest.

But tell your momma and your papa
Sometimes good guys don't wear white

Everyday I work hard
At night I spend restless time
Those rich kids and all their lazy money
They can't hold a candle to mine

So tell your momma and your papa
Sometimes good guys don't wear white

Good guys, bad guys
Which is which?
The white collar worker
Or the digger of the ditch?
Man, who's to say who's the better man?
I'm doing the very best I can
Best I can

You thought I had a dirty mind
All those messed up chicks
Of the changing times
Love-filled and easy living
Can't come close
To the love that I've given

So tell your momma and your papa
Sometimes good guys don't wear white
They don't wear white
They don't wear white
They don't wear white
They don't wear white

Make Haste!

Chinese Dinner

So, my classmate Lifang got some pics to me from that Chinese dinner get-together my class had

This is one of the few pictures from the night where I'm not eating....

Can't remember why, but our teacher seemed to think it was very important that Joel and I hold bottles of soy sauce

Weekend Roundup

So, my bro Greg had some time off from the Navy, so he came up from Mississippi. Needless to say, it was imperative as always that we hung out. Chickie's and Pete's for burgers and crab fries,
and ZOMG SO GOOD Boondock Saints 2: All Saint's Day. People, you need to see that shit. I finally got a chance to give him the blade I had bought for him. Blade below:

Now back at school for a bit, senior portraits today. Blehg.

Don't say I never taught you anything

Comic Book Thursday

Picked up an Immortal Iron Fist trade, yeah Brubaker killed it. A few issues of Zombie Deadpool, which has mercs, evil legions, hottie, dinosaurs, and zombies-yeah pretty much anything that could ever be asked from a comic, and a cool looking Detective Comics with Batman on the cover, swooping down on some Klansmen. I am so pumped to read that shit.

Mastodon/Dethklok

First: Converge fucking sucks. Fucking. Sucks.

Second: Mastodon killed it. They played the Crack The Skye album in its entirety, complete with trippy background movie in which Rasputin sword fights Satan. They also touched Blood Mountain, Leviathan, and pulled a few tracks off of Remission. Tasty, tasty Mastodon. I'd go see them any time, and I am gonna have to look for their past releases on sweet, sweet vinyl.

Third: Dethklok. I didn't know what to expect from the band that sprung forth from the Adult Swim show, but it turns out their concerts function pretty much like an extended episode, which is awesome. Brendon Small, the man behind Metalocalypse, is a genius at guitar, and it was a very cool show indeed.

Pictures? I wish. No digi.

Mike Rowe on the Importance of Trades

In a speech to a group of somebodies in Silicone valley, Mike Rowe talks about testicles on his chin, and the growing distaste for manual labor jobs. America seems to have turned its back on skilled labor, and forgotten the pride of doing something the hard/right way.

8 midgets down. One I ran over!

Weekend Roundup

Well, it was a great weekend. Got my victory Guinness from G.A., and I've never been one to be satisfied with just one Guinness. She also gave me a tshirt from Lyco, because we beat them so bad.
So that was Friday.
Me and Dad spent alot of Saturday putzing around grocery stores. We were going over some friends house that night and didn't want to roll in empty handed. So I made some pasta. He was mostly looking for ingredients, because he spent some of last week in New Orleans and has since been hooked on gumbo, jambalaya etc. And then that night was spent chilling, eating pasta, laughing at little two-year-olds being adorable, and Bourbon and ginger ales.
Sunday, as always, meant coffee and sports center with the gram-a true O.G.-, and I got a chance to dig out a few skateboards and get the trucks off and sanded down for a few tables.

A few current favorites:

Dead Kennedys-Too Drunk to Fuck

Every Day is A Good Day

When you get a chance to bug out of a workshopping of your story, and head over to the comic shop with buddies Sam and Krystle. Picked up more Marvel Zombies (3)-missing some of the humor of the first 2-and Punisher:Noir. Meeting the two killahs later, for dinner.

World Series!

Way to go, Phils.
Also, I'm up to 5 midgets.

Ballads from the Revolution

I love finding cds from when I was younger. Case in point: Good Riddance's Ballads From the Revolution. A guy at the bakery I worked at burned me a copy and we would listen to it nonstop, cleaning in the back when the place had closed.

Was doin something and came across it today, and it hasn't lost any of its appeal in my eyes.
